I’m a poet, I spend at least an hour each day writing new pieces, and one thing I love to do is create using writing prompts.

Writing prompts shake your brain, and pull you out of your comfort zone.

I like to challenge myself, and right now, I’m doing a 30-day poetry sprint. This means that I take one prompt each day and write a short poem.

Try it, you’ll learn and grow so much as a creative.

I also like to read quotes about poetry and creativity, these also act as writing prompts.

So, before we dive into the prompts, here are five quotes on creativity and poetry:

“Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.” — William Wordsworth

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” — Albert Einstein

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.” — Robert Frost

“Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected.” — William Plomer

“Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words.” — Edgar Allan Poe
