Online learning has grown tremendously in the past decade. The recent global pandemic has been a major catalyst in the growth of online or remote education. 2019 saw more than $18 billion invested in online education technology indicating that online learning is here to stay.

There are thousands of online study platforms to choose from however, these five of the best to consider signing up for.

Skillshare

Skillshare is probably the most popular online learning platform online however, it is definitely not the only one. It has thousands of courses available and sign up is quick and easy. I recently completed a course on Skillshare on creativity and how to boost it, I learned a lot and the course was comprehensive and well-executed.

Pinnacle Virtual Academy

Pinnacle Virtual Academy offers various courses ranging from entrepreneurship to workplace essentials. The courses are easy to follow and value-packed, they also offer a membership system where you pay a monthly fee to enrol in a certain amount of courses per month.

They have different packages to choose from allowing the member to make the most of the courses on offer. I recently completed a social media course on Pinnacle Virtual Academy, a great course for beginners and intermediate social media marketers.

3. Udemy

Udemy is another popular learning platform with plenty of courses to choose from. Courses start from $13 upwards, all courses are video tutorials with some practical elements. The last course I completed on Udemy was an SEO course, it was comprehensive and extremely valuable.

4. FutureLearn

FutureLearn offers online degrees, micro skill courses and diploma certificates. All courses are taught by university teachers. They offer courses ranging from digital marketing to advanced programming.

5. Udacity

Udacity is a more specialized and hands-on platform with all courses offering intense boot camps and practical learning sessions to challenge students. This platform is a little more pricey than the others with courses starting at approximately $399 per month.

All of the online learning platforms mentioned in this article offer something for everyone. If you prefer video tutorials or text course materials, you will certainly find the course and teaching method that suits you in this list of online learning platforms.
