Publishing Every Day on Medium is not Enough Anymore, You Have to Engage
Gone are the days when you can write an article and sit back with a hot cup of coffee and watch the views roll in. Yes, it happens once in a while however, writing daily is not enough anymore.
You can’t set it and forget it anymore.
Yes, older articles will most likely earn a few pennies here and there and sometimes, older articles suddenly go viral. It’s rare though.
I’ve published over 1000 articles on Medium and I believe that I can stop writing for a couple of months and still earn $1000 a month. However, if I want to hit $6k to $10k every month, I need to publish daily, engage and share my content.
The truth is, the Medium Partner Program is not the only way to earn.
These days, I’m counting my affiliate earnings and digital product sales too.
It’s possible to hit the $20k per month mark on Medium if you add other income streams to the mix.
The Medium Partner Program is slow as f**k right now. I’m not gonna lie!
For me, digital products pull in the most profit, and on my other Medium accounts, affiliate links bring in that extra cash for the month. I don’t rely on the Medium partner program for my other accounts.
I publish once a day on those and engage by posting ten comments on each account every day. I make sure I respond to comments too. I have to admit, I’m slacking on the engagement front in this account but, I’m about to start again.
I love connecting with other writers and reading new stories. I always feel so inspired when I connect with a new writer or read fresh material from an old friend here on Medium.
