She Made $7000 From One Article

Last week, I had a long discussion with a friend who recently made $7000 from one article.
I love sharing Medium success stories, it brings me joy! My friend asked me to keep her identity anonymous because she doesn’t like sharing her earnings but I asked her what it takes to create a killer article that earns more than most people make in a whole year on Medium.
This is what she had to say:
“I have published more than 2000 articles on Medium, this is the first mega-viral article I have published on here. My advice to writers that want to go viral is to write, write and write some more. Medium is like the lottery, you increase your chances of winning when you write and publish more articles. I publish eight articles a week, sometimes more. I read, engage and I’m constantly thinking of new ideas. I write two controversial articles per week too. When you write shock value articles, you increase your chances of going viral.”
I don’t think there is a magic formula to going viral on Medium. Some writers get one viral article and it never happens again. I’ve had two articles that earned more than $1000 each. My highest earning article this year earned $500.
